With a population of 169.000 inhabitants, Muelheim an der Ruhr is the 44th largest city in Germany. Its located in West-Germany right in the heart of the Ruhrarea (Map below).

The public transport system in Mülheim an der Ruhr (mhvg)


The MHVG is member of the Transit and Tariff Association Rhein-Ruhr ( Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr ). Within the VRR, which comprises all cities of the Ruhrarea, the MHVG allocates all means of public transportation in Mülheim an der Ruhr. By buying a ticket for public transportation people in Mülheim are allowed to use trams, buses, ships, the tube and special trains of the Deutsche Bahn to compass their destinations. This variety of different means of transportation afford a very high level of flexibility and helps achieving all possible destinations within a short time.
